Purdue University is seeking applications and nominations for its Assistant Comptroller, Payroll Services.

The Office of Comptroller is committed to the success and integrity of the University and provides key administrative business services, such as payroll, to the university community. As an integral part of the Purdue, the Office of Comptroller focuses on protecting the University?s resources and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations while striving to exceed our campus?s service expectations through continuous assessment and improvement of our processes.
The position provides leadership and management of Payroll Services, which is responsible for personnel appointment processing, timekeeping, payroll processing and accounting, and individual tax services to the entire Purdue University system. The Assistant Comptroller will recommend, implement, monitor, and manage payroll and individual tax policies, procedures and internal controls for the University utilizing and leveraging technology to streamline processes while maintaining the integrity of the payroll and individual tax processes and related financial data. Through personal role modeling, this position will assure the department provides excellent support and customer service to constituents and establish partnership with key stakeholders.
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Management, Human Resources, Taxation or related field. MBA or related master?s degree preferred.
This is a senior management position that requires exceptional leadership, judgment, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a proven ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Other key knowledge, skills and abilities: Required CPA, will consider equivalent certification (e.g., CMA or CPP) with 15 or more years work experience in payroll and tax in higher education.
10 or more years of supervisory work experience in payroll, tax, or human resources. Preferred work experience in higher education or equivalent institution.
