FEATURED ? By Staff on December 30, 2012 8:56 pm

We are pleased to announce a new feature here at HealthyBlackMen.org??Ask Dr. Leo!?dr leonard moore

Dr. Leo Moore has gladly opened up his inbox to take all sorts of health and sexual health-related questions from our readers. In fact, Dr. Moore says ?everything is on the table.? We want to hear from you about the itching, the funny odor, ?t go away.? Get each and every question addressed for free with Dr. Moore and the entire team at HealthyBlackMen.org.

Dr. Moore completed his undergraduate degree magna cum laude, earned his medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine, and is currently a resident at the Yale University School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Moore created and implemented Men?s Health and Sexual Health curricula while attending Morehouse that have been used to train Resident Assistants across the country. Long before the title of Doctor was attached to his name, Dr. Moore understood the importance of educating men about sexual health and wellness issues. That?s why we?ve got him right here.

His current research is focused on these issues including HIV stigma and the barriers to appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Moore also has a strong interest in the role that self-esteem and views on masculinity have on sexual risk behaviors among men who have sex with men (MSM). This interest led to his involvement with AID Atlanta and the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center in New York where he evaluated health issues affecting MSM from diagnosis to recovery.

Dr. Moore?s work and research on these issues has not gone unnoticed. He has been awarded the ?Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine? award from the Arnold P. Gold Foundation for his compassionate, sensitive delivery of care to patients and their families. He also earned the ?Outstanding Medical Student in Volunteerism and Advocacy? honor from the American College of Physicians.

We are truly fortunate to call him a part of our team and are proud to offer readers the benefit of this newly-formed relationship. Questions can be sent via email to askdrleomoore@gmail.com or via twitter @DrLeo06.
